The Central Board of Secondary Education has given consent to 12th class students to write an improvement exam to enhance their scores. The board also allowed the students to take up compartment exams. As per the latest news, about 9424 candidates have enrolled for this option of taking up the improvement and compartment examinations. After holding the improvement exams and the result declaration, the scores of the students in these exams will become the final scores. This particular option isn’t available to the class 10 students of CBSE.
Earlier, the board was in the middle of conducting the annual board exams. But, the Government has imposed a nationwide lockdown for a couple of months. As a result, the board has to stop organizing the exams for the leftover papers. Based on the revised assessment scheme and aggregate marks, the candidates were given marks in different papers that they hadn’t take up. After the longterm lockdown, CBSE has decided to hold the compartment and improvement examinations with the physical appearance of the students.
This year, about 237849 candidates have enrolled for the compartment exams. Besides these students, the results of 400 candidates were not disclosed as they have had written less number of exams for the revised assessment scheme. Such students can also take up the exam for those papers. CBSE has allotted a total of 1268 exam venues across the nation. Out of them, there are 247 test venues in Delhi. The improvement and compartment exams will be conducted until 30th September, as per the latest reports.
Rama Sharma, the CBSE PRO said, ‘Wherever possible, students have been given examination centers closest to where they are. Students will not be writing the exams from their schools since we have students who have changed locations within the country during the pandemic as well and we have tried to designate them the closest centers.’ Get to know the latest educational news such as exams, results, and more on this website.
