Due to the nationwide lockdown amid the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, all the educational institutions and libraries have been shut down. In such a critical situation, AICTE has decided to provide access to NDLI to the aspirants without any charges. NDLI is the National Digital Library of India. The All India Council for Technical Education has provided consent to the students to access the digital library for free. No student needs to pay the amount for accessing the digital content.
The contenders can access the content available on a couple of web sources. It includes ndl.gov,in and ndl.iitkgp.ac.in. In an official notice, the officials at AICTE has made this announcement. The circular issued by AICTE reads, ‘To help the student community in the difficult situation arising out of the suspension of physical classes and closure of physical libraries arising out of COVID-19 lockdown, the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) has initiated specially designed collections of e-resources for a specific group of students.’
On NDLI, the students can find the content that ranges from schools to the UG courses in different streams. The ambitious candidates need to log into the portal and register themselves on the website. The non-payment of the salaries to the staff would drive to immense tension on the individual. It eventually leads to the corresponding families’ starvation of the college staff. Hence, it is the responsibility of each individual to stay at home and stay safe in the risky situation of the nation.
AICTE officials also made an official announcement keeping the students in mind. As per the announcement, the students need to take the best care of the near and dear ones. Meanwhile, the students are advised to continue their studies at home without giving up. AICTE, in the notice, said, ‘Together, we shall learn, share, grow and get through this as a nation.’
