The Government of India made an official announcement on Tuesday i.e., on 5th May 2020 regarding the cancellation of CBSE 10th exams. Earlier, the officials of CBSE board have postponed the 10th class exams amid the ongoing lockdown and COVID-19 outbreak. Now, due to the extension of the nationwide lockdown, the Government made this decision. The board exams of 10th class students won’t be organized for this academic year.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development issued an official notification to inform the cancellation of CBSE 10th board exams across the nation excluding Northeast Delhi. During the live session with students, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the HRD Minister informed this latest news. He further said that the 12th class students will be given enough time i.e., at least 10 days for the exam preparation. The highly preferred papers of 12th class will be considered at the time of conducting the exams.
The crucial subjects that are necessary for acquiring admissions into higher educational institutes will be conducted for the 12th class students. The grades acquired in those subjects will be preferred to provide a promotion to the next education level. As per the previous announcement, CBSE holds the board exams for 29 subjects for the 12th class students. All the exams of minor subjects for the 10th class students will be cancelled across the nation.
The minister further posted a tweet on his official Twitter handle. The tweet reads, ‘No examination to be held for class X students nationwide, except for students from North-East Delhi. An adequate time of 10 days will be given to all students for the preparation of exams.’ In a press notice, the ministry of HRD said that the students from North East Delhi who have already appeared for the exams don’t need to reappear.
