The Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to organize 10th and 12th examinations for only 29 main subjects. The crucial subjects that are important for giving promotion to the contenders have been selected. The candidates who pass all the 29 main subjects will be able to get admission into various institutions. The Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank made this official announcement on 1st April 2020.
In the meantime, the CBSE officials also decided not to conduct the pending class 10 and class 12 exams in other countries. Due to the coronavirus outbreak across the nation, several boards have postponed the board-level and annual exams. In the latest tweet, the Union HRD Minister Nishank explained the current situation.
The tweet says, ‘For the rest of the subjects, the Board will not hold examinations; the instructions for marking/assessment in all such cases shall be separately issued by the Board.’ Considering the current perilous situations across the world due to the spread of coronavirus, the Indian Government has imposed nation-wide lockdown.
On the other hand, the board has already announced a mass promotion for class 1 to class 9 and 11 students. All those students need not take up any sort of final exam to enter the next class. Without any exams, the students will be promoted by the corresponding schools. However, the board has decided to reschedule the board exam date for 10th and 12th class exams.
Still, it is arduous for the board to decide and declare the revised schedule for the exams. We expect the board might announce the revised schedule after the completion of the lockdown period. Stay tuned to our website – KVPY to know the latest updates about various board exams and revised dates.
