The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education [CGBSE] has annulled the 10th and 12th class exams of the postponed papers. Earlier, the officials have scheduled to hold the exams for the remaining papers from 4th May 2020. Due to the further extension of the nationwide lockdown until 17th May 2020, the board has made this decision.
This is the second time for the board to postpone the exams for the postponed papers. However, this time, the officials have just cancelled the exams. The Government of Chhattisgarh also decided to promote the candidates of classes from 1 to 9 and 11 previously. The officials have made this announcement through a circular.
The circular reads, ‘Due to the closure of the school for such a long time, the examinations held locally in the schools of class 1 to 8 and class 9 and class 11 could not be conducted. It does not even seem possible to conduct the examination in the near future. In view of this, the state government has decided to give general promotion to the students studying from class 1 to 8 and classes 9 and 11.’
Finally, the Government has decided to promote the students of classes 1 to 9 and 11 to the next grades without holding exams. As per the latest update, the Central Government has imposed an extension in the lockdown period. Due to the exponential increase in the COVID-19 cases across the nation, the Government has extended the lockdown till 17th May 2020.
