The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education issued an official notice informing the new schedule for the postponed 10th and 12th board exams. Previously, the concerned board authorities had to postpone the exams in the middle of the schedule due to the lockdown across the nation. On the official website of the board, the officials have released a notice.
The notice reads that the 12th class board pending vocational exams will be conducted from 4th May 2020 and ends on 8th May 2020. On the other hand, the 10 class board postponed exams will be organized between 4th and 5th May 2020. As per the fresh schedule, the exams will be conducted only in the morning shifts for the 10th and 12th students.
Earlier, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel announced that the students from classes 1 to 9 and 11 will be mass promoted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Except for the 10th and 12th class students, all the students from various classes will be promoted to the next classes without exams. Due to the perilous coronavirus outbreak, the Chhattisgarh Government shut all the schools on 19th March.
The Chhattisgarh CM also followed the nation-wide lockdown by closing the schools and colleges in the state till 14th April 2020. However, there are few reports recently that the lockdown might be extended due to the increase in COVID-19 cases. Some of the CMs of different states have requested Prime Minister Modi to extend the lockdown for some more days. Considering the rapid spread of the coronavirus cases across the nation, the Indian Government may extend the lockdown for 2 more weeks.
