Education Minister Says, JEE Advanced to be Conducted on July 3

The Joint Entrance Exam [Advanced] examination will be organized on 3rd July 2021, announced by the education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Thursday i.e., on 7th January 2021. Previously, the minister had announced that the JEE Main examination would be conducted in 4 phases starting from February 23. The first phase will be held between 23rd February and 26th February. The second phase will be organized from 15th March to 18th March. The third and fourth phases of the exam would be conducted from 27th April to 30th April and 24th May to 28th May respectively.

This year, IIT-Kharagpur will conduct the JEE Advanced examination for ambitious candidates. The education minister further stated that the students acquiring 75 percent in board exams won’t be a criterion in these admissions this year. As per the previous rules, a general category rank holder in the JEE Advanced examination should have scored a minimum of 75 percent or secure a position in the top 20 percentile in their corresponding board exams to be eligible for the seat in any of the institutes.

The students belonging to the SC or ST categories must secure at least 65 percent or accomplish the eligibility requirement of securing a position in the top 20 percentile. Still, this pre-requisite was discontinued in the previous installment of the examination. Moreover, this requirement will not be applied in the next installment as well. In general, the top 2.5 lakh rank holders of the JEE Main examination are shortlisted to take part in the JEE Advanced examination. It is the gateway to get admission into the topmost IITs across the nation.

The results of the JEE Main 2021 February session would be disclosed in March.
