The Indian Institute of Technology [IIT] Bombay has extended the last date for the submission of applications for GATE 2021. As per the latest report, the last date to submit the applications for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is 14th October till 5 PM. The last date for the submission of the GATE applications is 12th October 2020. The candidates who haven’t registered can do it on the official website i.e., at gate.iitb.ac.in. Still, a late fee of Rs. 500 need to be paid for the candidates who submit the applications after the due date, as per the rules.
The concerned authorities have scheduled to conduct the GATE 2021 examination between 5th and 7th February and 12th and 14th February 2020. The contenders who clear the national-level examination will be eligible to acquire admissions into various MTech courses across IITs. Later, the ambitious candidates will be eligible to apply for high-level jobs at Public Sector Undertakings [PSUs].
On the website, the concerned authorities have published a statement that reads, ‘Closing date of Registration for GATE 2021 is EXTENDED up to 17:00 hrs IST (5:00 PM) Wednesday 14th October 2020.’ This year, the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay [IIT-Bombay] will be conducting the GATE 2021 examination. It provides the applicants with a provision to edit the previously filled GATE 2021 application form starting from 28th October 2020. As per the GATE 2021 exam schedule, IIT Bombay has decided to hold the exams in February 2021.
As per the previous reports, about 15 to 20 percent of MTech seats across IITs go unoccupied as the PSUs and IITs fail to sync. To apply for the GATE 2021 examination, the candidates can visit the official website i.e., at gate.iitb.ac.in. Hit the application link present on the home page of the website. Click on the new registration link and fill some of the vital details in the provided fields. Pay the application fee and fill the application form. The GATE online application processing system [GOAPS] will reopen from 28th October and 13th November 2020. The candidates can make certain changes in terms of their preferred city to take up the exam or the selection of the category and more. This year, the institute has introduced two new subjects such as Environmental Science and Engineering and Humanities and Social Science. The students with a non-engineering background can also apply for these courses. The candidates in the 3rd year of their Degrees can also apply for the aforementioned courses.
The candidates need to pay Rs. 200 per paper as an application fee. The reserved category candidates and female applicants need to pay a fee of Rs. 1250. The application fee for the foreign candidates is $120. This fee is applicable to the students belonging to Dhaka, Colombo, Addis Abada, and Kathmandu and the fee per paper is $70.
