The Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] announced that it will accept the Aadhaar Card as valid identity proof for the GMAT online examination. The council announced this news on Thursday i.e., on 25th February 2021. Previously, the examinees were asked to use a passport as their ID card at the time of verification during the GMAT examination. Now, the candidates can pick either of these valid ID proofs for the test.
This year, the concerned authorities of the council have scheduled to hold the GMAT online examination on 8th April 2021. Still, the Aadhaar card is only applicable for the online GMAT examination as of now and not for the test venue examination. The examinees who take up the exam at the test center need a passport. The officials will accept the passport as a sole form of acceptable identification.
The online exam appointments that were provided before 8th April will still need a passport for valid ID proof, GMAC stated in its official notification.
