The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education [GBSHSE] asked for consent from the State Government to conduct the SSC and HSSC examinations. Earlier, the education board has postponed the pending exams of 10th and 12th classes. Due to the nationwide lockdown amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the board postponed the exams. Now, the Government has permitted the state board to conduct the exams after lifting the lockdown i.e., after 17th May 2020.
The pending HSSC and SSC exams will be conducted in the green zones starting from 20th May and 21st May respectively. The pending 12th class or HSSC exams will be organized between 20th and 22nd May 2020. Previously, Pramod Sawant, the Chief Minister of Goa announced that the SSC and HSSC exams would be organized post the 3rd phase of COVID-19 lockdown.
As per the latest notification, the officials have issued a detailed exam schedule on 6th May 2020. The decision on conducting the 10th and 12th board exams is applied to the schools that are affiliated to the state boards. This rule won’t be applied to the schools that are affiliated to CISCE and CBSE.
Meanwhile, the Union HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal announced that the pending 10th class exams won’t be conducted for CBSE students. For the 12th class students of CBSE, the exams of the key subjects will be conducted. The subjects that are crucial at the time of admissions into various colleges are selected by the board. As per the latest announcement, the CBSE 10th exams will be cancelled across the country except for the North East regions in Delhi.
