Further, the Education Minister stated that the government had decided on reopening the schools only after making essential arrangements for the same. The students don’t require parental permission who attends the regular classes. On the other hand, the colleges will be reopened only for the final year students pursuing various undergraduate and postgraduate courses across different colleges in the state. As per the official notice issued by the state education minister, ‘Covid-19 pandemic related Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) and consent of parents will be mandatory to attend class in person.’

Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that attendance will not be mandatory for the students who attend their respective classes in various schools. The minister declined the chance of giving mass promotion to the students once again without holding the board exams. He said that the exams would be organized for the syllabus covered before the lockdown. The state government also issued few guidelines that every school must follow before and after reopening.

Some of them include that all the schools must be sanitized before the beginning of the classes. All the teachers, students, and non-teaching staff must go through the thermal checking prior to entering the school premises. Every individual must carry their own sanitizers. The students and other members of the schools must follow proper precautionary measures like social distancing norms in classes as well as outside classes.

Wearing a mask and carrying their food, snacks, lunch box, and water from home is also included in the guidelines. All the students, teachers, and other staff must follow the instructions levied by the state government and the center. The education board of Gujarat is planning to hold the board exams for classes 10 and 12 in May 2021. However, the board officials haven’t issued the official notice or exam datesheet as of now. It is expected the board might release the timetable for class 10 and 12 board exams in the next week. For more educational updates, stay tuned to this website.
