Ramesh Pokhriyal, the Human Resource Development Minister organized a meeting with all the state education ministers on Tuesday. During the meeting, he asked the ministers to begin the evaluation process of CBSE board exam answer papers. It’s a video conference meeting held by the HRD Minister. Intending to discuss the necessary steps to be taken to make the education system well-structured amid the COVID-19 lockdown.
One question has been under discussions each time whilst a meeting with the ministers. It is about how to handle the remaining board examinations majorly, the CBSE board exams. The officials are also discussing on how to conduct the evaluation process for the board exam answer scripts. Despite the completion of the board exams, the evaluation process hasn’t commenced due to the abrupt lockdown imposed by the Indian Government.
Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also made an appeal to all the education ministers of different states to commence the evaluation session of answer sheets. He asked them to begin the evaluation of all the state board examinations. The evaluation process is on standby for a long period amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The HRD Minister further asked the education ministers of all the states to assist CBSE to conduct the paper evaluation session in their corresponding states.
The Minister posted a tweet on his official Twitter handle that reads, ‘I also appealed to the States to start the evaluation process of answer sheets of board exams and facilitate @CBSE to evaluate answer sheets of students in their respective states.’ During the video conference, he also asked various states to utilize the last year’s Samagra Siksha Balance that’s about Rs. 6200 crore. For the first quarter of the academic year, an ad-hoc grant of Rs. 4450 crore has been sanctioned to the Government.
He further asked the state ministers to transfer the funds released to the State Implementation Committee. Using that amount, the Government can utilize it properly. This eventually helps in the prompt release of the subsequent installment.
