The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has planned to revive the evaluation process of 10th and 12th class papers in ‘work from home’ model. The Government has decided to conduct the evaluation session in the summer zones of Jammu division. As per this model, the sub-examiners or the evaluators have a facility to check the answer papers right from their home. Due to the ongoing lockdown and the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government took this decision.
The Department of School Education issued a government order. The order says, ‘The remaining unevaluated answer scripts of 10th and 12th class be issued to the eligible sub examiners/ evaluators for evaluation from their homes instead of routine table evaluation as a one-time exception.’ The order further states that the evaluation should be conducted by practicing a few mechanisms to ensure the safety, confidentiality, and security of the answer papers. To make this possible, the joint secretary must take necessary steps and implement the essential modalities, says the order.
Based on the marks secured by the students in the Science theory subject, the teachers need to give them proportionate marks in the 10th practical exams. The order also mentioned that the board will take a proper decision regarding the non-conduct of the HSP-II theory examinations post the evaluation process.
The order further states that, ‘However, all the other norms of conduct or evaluation as envisaged in the relevant regulations shall be applicable.’
