JNU to Reopen Campus from 8th February 2021

The Jawaharlal Nehru University [JNU] has decided to reopen the campus in a phased manner. As per the latest announcement, the university will reopen from 8th February for the 4th semester of MPhil and MTech students from the science school or special center. The final semester of MBA students can also attend the university starting 8th February 2021. The university authorities have given the students a choice based on their need of accessing the laboratory.

The day scholars and the hostel students will be permitted to enter the campus from the scheduled dat. The students need to submit their thesis or dissertation before June 2021 regarding the same. The university issued an official notice stating that the shops that sell snacks, tea, and other refreshments will also be permitted to reopen with immediate effect. Still, the dhabas, canteen that provide meals, Puran Chand and Mohd Farquan meat shop, etc. aren’t permitted to open till further notice.

The entry of NCC girl cadets, E-auto rickshaw service on campus, and others will be allowed. On the other hand, Delhi University has already permitted students and staff to re-enter the campus from 1st February 2021. Following the guidelines of the ministry, various university campuses across India are being reopened. However, no student is compelled to attend online classes and the students who want to attend the campus in person need parental consent. The COVID-19 pandemic norms will be followed as usual.

In the previous month, Jawaharlal Nehru University has disclosed COVID guidelines. As per the guidelines, the social gathering should be prevented in the academic blocks and the remaining parts of the university.
