Th. Radheshyam, the education minister of Manipur officially launched an e-learning website for the students of classes 1 to 12. The students pursuing their education from 1st to 12th standards of Manipur Board and Council of Higher Secondary can utilize the services of this website. After launching the website, the minister also released a new Android app namely ‘Lairik’. The meaning of this app is the books in Manipuri form of the language.
The newly launched app will be made available on the Google Play Store app store within 5 days. This app is also available for iOS users in less than a month. On websites such as http://www.lairik.net and http://www.laireek.net, the students can access more than 85 bi-lingual audiovisual classes. These classes have been uploaded by the concerned folks maintaining the websites. The minister further said that the Government administers both the domains to curb piracy.
He further added that more than 200 subjects for the students pursuing classes 1 to 12 will be uploaded frequently. This way, it enables the students to gain a quality education. He mentioned the fact that ‘The launch of the website marks the new chapter in the history of education in Manipur as students can go through the lessons for easier self-learning.’
Intending to enhance the user-friendliness of the websites and the content on it, the minister has invited various suggestions, comments and productive reviews from the people. During the ongoing lockdown amid the coronavirus crisis, the safety of the private teachers and school authorities is highly preferable. He said that the state is striving hard to tackle this situation in a knack way.
