The National Council of Educational Research and Training [NCERT] has come up with an alternative academic calendar for the students of classes from 1 to 12. The Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has issued the alternative academic calendar on 16th April 2020. Intending to engage the aspirants amid the coronavirus lockdown with various educational activities, Minister Ramesh issued the new academic calendar.
With the assistance of the parents and teachers, the students will be able to engage with various educational activities. Through this calendar, the teachers can get various instructions on different technological and social media tools. Using these tools, the teachers can follow interesting modes to educate the students right from home.
Different tools that can be accessed by the teachers include SMS, Television, social media, mobile and radio. Despite leading a life in the highly technological era, many of them don’t have an internet facility on the mobile phone. Some others don’t have access to various social media tools like Facebook, Google, Twitter, WhatsApp and more.
However, the alternative academic calendar helps teachers in providing the best guide to students and parents via SMS or a phone call. To execute the new calendar, the teachers expect the parents to assist the primary school students. The grades from 1 to 12 and various topics of these classes will be included in this academic calendar. This calendar will serve various necessities of the children [including the children with special abilities].
The students can access audiobooks, video programmes and radio programmes for Divyang students. Besides this, the calendar comprises weekly plans regarding the student-related activities. The concerned officials have innovatively designed this alternative academic calendar. Through various DTH channels and video conferencing, this calendar will be broadcasted. The video conferencing will take place among the directorates of education, NVS, CBSE, SSC, KVS and other boards.
