The Ministry of Human Resource Development has deferred the NEET 2020 medical entrance test due to the COVID-19 lockdown in India. The aspirants seeking to get admission into various medical colleges across the nation need to wait for some more time. Considering the difficulties confronted by the students and parents due to the coronavirus pandemic, NTA has decided to delay the NEET exam 2020.
Earlier, the officials at NTA have scheduled to organize the entrance test on 3rd May 2020. Now, the agency has postponed the exam and also planned to conduct it in the last week of May 2020. The officials informed that the accurate date will be announced soon after the lockdown period. This official confirmation came from an NTA official on Thursday.
On Thursday, the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal posted a tweet on the microblogging website. The tweet reads, ‘Since Parents and Students have to travel to different examination centres, to avoid any inconvenience to them, I have directed National Testing Agency @DG_NTA to postpone NEET (UG) 2020 and JEE(Main) till last week of May.’
Previously, the authorities have decided to release the NEET hall ticket 2020 on 27th March i.e., on Friday. As per the latest update, the NEET 2020 Admit card won’t be issued on the scheduled date. This postponement of the exam took place because of the outbreak of coronavirus all over the nation.
The applicants of NEET 2020 are advised to visit the official website frequently to check the latest updates. The candidates will receive the updates regarding the exam via registered mobile number and email ID. It’s not just the postponement of the NEET-UG entrance test. The Governments of various states have already deferred different board level exams, admission tests because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
