The Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh announced that the students who secure above 98 percent in 12th board exams will be gifted Rs. 5100 cash prize. All the students affiliated to Punjab state education board who score more than 98% will be given this cash prize. The Punjab School Education Board recently disclosed the 12th class results of all the students across the state. During the live interaction session organized this week ‘#AskCaptain’ on Facebook, the state CM made this announcement.
As per the announcement, the CM said that the cash prize of Rs. 5100 will be gifted to 335 students who secure more than 98% marks in 12th class board exams in Punjab. The CM also praised the hard work of the teachers in accomplishing such an unusual pass percentage of 94.32 in the Government schools across the state. The state education board recently declared the class 12 exam results on 21st July 2020.
This year, the state witnessed 90.98 pass percentage of the students in 12th class board exams. Compared to the previous year, the pass percentage has been increased by 4.5%. Sukhjinder Singh, one of the residents of Nawanshahr asked a query during the live interaction session on Facebook. The CM responded to the question and said, ‘The consistent, concerted and dedicated efforts of the education department, especially the teachers, for sprucing up the infrastructure facilities and bringing in qualitative improvement in teaching-learning has started fructifying.’
He further added, ‘The pass percentage of government schools this year is 94.32%, and has outshined the private schools consecutively for the second year, thus bringing in a change in public perception.’ The Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh posted another tweet on his official microblogging website regarding the recruitment of worthy teachers across all the government schools. By ensuring accurate attendance of all teachers and students in all government schools, it has become possible to witness such a great outcome in board exam results.
During the interaction session, the CM also announced that the government schools across the state won’t charge any sort of admission fee, tuition fee, and re-admission fee this year from students. Speaking about the open school students, the state CM said that the regular school students were passed considering their internal assessment marks. But, in the case of open schooling students, it may not be possible.
