Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education decided to promote the students of classes 9 to 11 to the next standard without conducting exams. The state government has to make this decision considering the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic across the nation. In the latest official order, Rajasthan Secondary Education Department also said that students will be promoted to the 10th and 12th standards considering few factors.
It includes the performance of the students in 3 unit tests, the performance of the candidates in the entire academic year, half-yearly exam results and co-curricular activities. Due to the ongoing nation-wide lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Government has to come to this decision.
As per the latest reports, the state board has planned to provide 50% weightage to half-yearly marks, 305 to co-curricular activities and 20 % weightage to the 3 unit tests. The concerned authorities will also consider the performance of the candidates in the class. Out of the total 100 marks, the board will decide the performance of the students as mentioned above. Finally, considering the aforementioned factors, the board will promote to the next class.
In the same Government order, the educational authorities asked all the school principals to give away the promotion certificates to the students after lifting the lockdown. After wrapping up the lockdown, the concerned school authorities must handover the promotion certificates to the students of 9th and 11th classes. Besides promoting the students, the board has started providing online study material to the students.
For the next standard, the students can access the study material via the social media interface. The social media interface for learning engagement [SMILE] is the official portal that provides the online study material to the aspirants. Previously, RBSE has already announced that it will promote the students of classes 1 to 8 to the next standards without exams.
Like Maharashtra Government, the Rajasthan education minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati also decided to form a 5-member committee. The committee will take care of preparing the timetable for various university exams. The board has previously organized the mid-semester exams online. A new YouTube channel has been launched to ease the students in finding classes on different subjects.
