The Education Minister of Karnataka, S. Suresh Kumar recently announced that the students in the containment zones won’t be permitted to take up the SSLC exams. The officials of the board have disclosed the revised schedule for holding the SSLC exams for all the students in Karnataka from 25th June 2020. However, the education minister said that the students situated in various containment zones of the state aren’t allowed to write the exams.
He said, ‘We will not conduct SSLC examinations for students residing in containment zones. They will be instead treated as fresh candidates and will be allowed to attend the exams later. Fresh sets of hall tickets and marks cards will be issued for such candidates.’ For such candidates, the exams will be organized alongside the supplementary exams that will be conducted after the regular exams usually, said the minister.
This year, a total of 848192 candidates have enrolled for the SSLC examination. For the students of PUC 2nd year in the state, English paper is leftover. As per the announcement made by the minister on Monday, the pending English language exam will be organized on 18th June 2020. Starting from 25th June 2020, the Karnataka SSLC exams will be wrapped up by 3rd July 2020.
Another important point is that the concerned authorities have made necessary arrangements to conduct the exams amid greater precautionary measures. It includes sanitizers, masks usage, and checking the students through thermal scanners. This information was earlier announced by the state education minister.
As per the latest reports, the officials had set up a total of 43720 rooms in 2879 buildings across the state for holding the SSLC exams.
