After several months of shut down, the state government of Tamil Nadu has finally made a decision on reopening schools across the state. Since the COVID-19 pandemic and the nationwide lockdown, all the educational institutions across the state were shut. On Monday, the Tamil Nadu School Education and Youth Welfare Minister K A Sengottaiyan decided on reopening schools in the state. Considering the suggestions from parents and students, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu has made a decision on reopening schools.
Chief Minister K Palaniswami will take a final decision on reopening schools in the state. During the inauguration event organized at Gobichettipalayam, the state CM made this announcement. The CM inaugurated the distribution of Rs. 2500 cash and gift hamper to ration card holders across Gobichettipalayam. The minister stated, ‘On behalf of the School Education Department, suggestions will be obtained from parents, students and Parents-Teachers Associations also about reopening of the schools in Tamil Nadu. They will be collected till this weekend.’
We all know that all the educational institutes across the state have been shut since the nationwide lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020. The minister further said that the practical exams will be organized for the 10th and 12th class students. The timetable for the same will be issued soon, said the minister. A total of 710966 ration cardholders would receive Rs. 2500 cash and gift hamper for the Pongal festival in Erode district, said K. Sengottaiyan. He further stated that gifts would be presented to the ration cardholders till 13th January 2021 in various PDS outlets.
