Tripura Board of Secondary Education, Agartala has disclosed the revised schedule for the pending exams of 10th and 12th class students. As per the latest notice, the officials of the board will hold the remaining exams from 5th June to 11th June 2020. The Indian Government has imposed a nationwide lockdown to curb the outbreak of the coronavirus across the nation.
As part of it, the lockdown has been extended till 31st May 2020. Due to the abrupt lockdown imposed by the Central Government, the education authorities of TBSE had to stop conducting the 10th and 12th class exams. To evade the loss of academics for the students, the state education board of Tripura has decided to conduct the pending exams.
On 20th May, the Ministry of Home Affairs permitted all the states in the country to conduct the pending board exams of class 10 and 12. The ministry has allowed the states to hold the exams only if they follow particular precautionary instructions. Besides the Tripura education board, some other school boards have planned to hold the respective 10th and 12th class exams post lifting the lockdown.
Some of the states like Manipur and Madhya Pradesh also declared the pending exams schedule of 12th class students. Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education, [CBSE] has decided to conduct the leftover exams for the students between 1st and 15th July 2020. MHA has released a list of safety instructions that each board and education institute must follow during the exams. It includes maintaining social distancing and using face masks and sanitizers.
The education minister of the state, Ratan Lal Nath gave a confirmation that the exams for the pending exams will be organized in June on the said dates. This year, about 27142 candidates have enrolled for class 12 board exams in Tripura. The exams were scheduled to hold in March. Due to the nationwide lockdown amid the COVID-19 crisis, the officials have postponed the exams.
