TSBIE Awards Grace Pass Marks to Absentee Students for Intermediate Exams

The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education [TSBIE] has given grace pass marks to the students who haven’t written the intermediate exams. Considering the current difficult situations amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the board has made this decision. As per the reports of TSBIE, a total of 27251 students haven’t appeared for the exams. A total of 338 students who were exempted due to malpractices were also awarded grace pass marks as one-time measures.

TSBIE Awards Grace Pass Marks to Absentee Intermediate Students

The board authorities have disclosed the intermediate exam results this year in June. In July, the board has declared the supplementary exam results. A total of 60.01 percent of students have cleared the 1st year intermediate exams. On the other hand, a total of 68.86 percent of students have cleared the 2nd year inter exams. The board has witnessed a slight increase in pass percentage from 59.77 percent in 2019 for 1st year and 65.01 percent in 2nd year.

The State Government of Telangana previously cancelled the 10th class or SSC examination and promoted all the students. This year, a total of 5.35 lakh candidates registered to take up the SSC exam. On the other hand, 9.65 lakh candidates have applied for the 1st and 2nd year intermediate examinations. The candidates need to acquire at least 35 percent marks in each subject and aggregate percentage to clear the TSBIE exams.
