Gujarat Board to Start Class 10, 12 Exam Paper Evaluation From 16th April 2020

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board [GSEB] has decided to begin the evaluation of the 10th and 12th class board exams from 16th April 2020. Ashwani Kumar, the Chief Minister Secretary announced that the answer papers of 10th and 12th class students will be evaluated from the said date. The concerned education boards have already made all the arrangements for the evaluation process. The Secretary further added that the board took the responsibility of the teachers who take part in the evaluation session.

Previously, the board has deferred the evaluation process due to the nation-wide lockdown amid the COVID-19 outbreak. As per the latest announcement from the board official, it takes at least a month to finish the evaluation of the answer papers. Further, the board discloses the 12th results followed by 10th results. According to the officials of the board, the aspiring students can obtain the 10th and 12th results by the end of May 2020.

This year, more than 16 lakh students took up the 10th and 12th class board exams. Among them, about 11.02 lakh students took up the 10th exams while more than 6 lakh students wrote 12th exams. On the other hand, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Gujarat state government has announced that it will promote the students of classes from 1 to 8. This mass promotion is pertinent to all the schools across the state.

Another important announcement made by Ashwani Kumar is that the educational institutes in the state will be on summer vacation from 15th April to 15th May 2020. Further, the postponed final exams will be conducted as per the UGC and AICTE guidelines. Speaking about the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Gujarat state has already witnessed a total of 600 coronavirus cases. A total of 26 were registered to be dead. On Monday, the total number of COVID-19 cases increased to 10000.
