Kendriya Vidyalayas across the nation have commenced the annual examinations starting 1st March 2021 in online mode. The term-end examinations have begun for classes 3 to 8 starting this month and wrap up by 20th March 2021. Following the guidelines of CBSE, all the KVS across the nation have begun the online exams. The results for the annual exams of 3rd to 8th classes will be disclosed on 31st March 2021.
The students who don’t have proper internet facilities or essential devices can take up the exams in offline mode. However, the students must get permission from their parents to appear for the offline exams. To make sure proper safety measures like social distancing, face masks, and sanitizers are used inside the classrooms, the offline exams in KVs will be conducted in a staggered mode.
Following the CBSE guidelines, Kendriya Vidyalayas will follow a specific exam pattern for the online examination. The examination will be held for a total of 40 marks for classes 3 to 5. It’s an examination that comprises multiple-choice questions for 10 marks, descriptive and oral questions will be conducted for 15 marks. For 6th to 8th classes, the online examination will be conducted for 80 marks. It comprises multiple-choice questions for 25 marks, descriptive for 40 marks, and oral for 15 marks.
The descriptive questions need to be answered in one or two sentences for classes 3 to 5. For 6 to 8 classes, the descriptive answers must be written in 1 paragraph. On the other hand, the oral examination will be conducted before beginning the session ending the examination. As per the latest notification, ‘Whenever there are major connectivity issues, the oral test component can replace the entire written test.’ The 9th and 11th class students who couldn’t pass the examination can take up the supplementary exam that will be conducted after 20th April 2021.
