National Council of Educational Research and Training [NCERT] has deferred stage 2 of the talent test amid the COVID-19 outbreak. The council earlier decided to conduct the National Talent Search Examination [NTSE] on 10th May 2020. Due to the extended nationwide lockdown, the officials of NCERT made this decision. When asked about the new schedule for the test, the officials said that an announcement will be made soon after the situation become normal.
The concerned authorities have issued a notice on the official website informing the postponement of the NTSE stage II exam. The notice reads, ‘It is notified for the information of all concerned that National Talent Search Stage-II Examination scheduled for May 10th, 2020 in all the States/UTs of the country has been postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic.’
The official notice further states ‘the new date will be intimated, please contact Liaison Officer of your State.’ This notice was issued by one of the professors at the council. The candidates who have secured at least 60 percent of marks in the past annual examination are allowed to take up the talent test. It is a national level examination conducted for all ambitious students.
A total of two papers are comprised of this examination. The applicants must take up the Paper I and Paper II exams. The Paper I examination tests the mental ability of the students. It is organized between 9.30 AM and 11.30 AM. On the other hand, the Paper-II exam is related to Scholastic Aptitude Test organized between 1.30 PM and 3.30 PM. Both the papers are conducted for 100 marks each.
Speaking about the selection procedure, the candidates qualified in both the papers individually will be placed in the merit list.
