Panjab University Declares One Month Summer Break from 15th May 2020

The Panjab University, Chandigarh officially declared a 1-month summer break for the students. It is already known that the entire nation has been following the lockdown imposed by the Central Government for several days. The officials of the University has been closed since 16th March 2020 due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and the country-wide lockdown.

To curb the further outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, the University has announced summer vacation from 15th May to 15th June 2020 for all the varsity students. For the next academic session, the University has deferred the admission process due to the lockdown extension. As per the latest notice issued by the varsity officials, the entrance test for providing admissions into B.Com, LLB and BA courses will be organized on 17th June 2020.

Panjab University Declares One Month Summer Break from 15th May 2020

The candidates seeking to get admissions into various UG courses will take up the PU CET exam on 25th June 2020. Further, the officials will hold the Panjab University Migration Engineering Entrance Test [PUMEET] on 5th July 2020. On 8th May 2020, the varsity has informed the students about the summer vacation through an official tweet. The tweet reads, ‘In view of #COVID19, Panjab University has declared it’s summer vacation from May 15 to June 15, 2020, in its campus at Chandigarh and its Regional Centres and Constituent/Affiliated Colleges.’

Karamjeet Singh, the registrar professor of Panjab University said that the officials of the University have taken the step post the internal deliberations. One of the officials of the varsity said that there are few reasons to declare summer vacations till 15th June for the students. One of the reasons is that most of the affiliated institutes of the University are located in Punjab. Moreover, the Punjab Government has previously declared summer break for the students from 15th May 2020.
