The SRM Institute of Science and Technology [SRMIST] has cancelled the SRMJEEE for the academic year 2020-21 considering the COVID-19 pandemic. The concerned authorities have considered the safety of the students and parents and decided to cancel the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination. Every year, SRMIST holds the SRMJEEE exam to provide admissions into various B.Tech courses in the institute.
Previously, the officials of the institute have planned to conduct the entrance exam across 127 cities and other overseas locations. It includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Doha, Dubai, and Muscat. Now, the institute had to cancel the entrance exam due to the exponential increase in the COVID-19 cases across the country.
The SRM University has decided to provide B.Tech admissions to the aspirants based on their Pre-University or +2 marks in Mathematics/Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The University confirmed this news through an official statement. The University considers the JEE Main, SRMJEEE, SAT [Scholastic Assessment Test] marks to provide B.Tech admissions to the students. The officials haven’t announced the accurate schedule for commencing the SRM B.Tech admission process.
It will release the admission schedule soon, as per the latest announcement. The students who have cleared JEE Main and SAT are permitted to apply for B.Tech admissions at SRM University. On the official website of the University i.e., at www.srmist.edu.in, the students can find the forms for providing JEE Main, SAT scores, and class 12/equivalent/pre-university marks.
All the interested and eligible candidates can begin the online application process on the official website. The students who haven’t acquired their 12th class results can simply update their marks in the application form after the result declaration. On the other hand, the students may not have the facility of getting scholarships based on SRMJEEE ranks. The University might provide scholarships to the students based on their respective SAT and JEE Main scores.
