TS EAMCET 2020 Exams to Start from September 9

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has disclosed the revised schedule for conducting the TS EAMCET 2020 examination. As per the latest news, the Telangana Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test will be organized in September 2020. For providing admission into various UG courses in Engineering colleges, the council has decided to conduct the entrance exam on 9th, 10th, 11th, and 14th September 2020. For the remaining streams, the council will hold the EAMCET exam after the completion of the NEET medical examination.

TSCHE has issued an official notification and published the same on its official website to inform the students about the upcoming entrance examination. As per the notice, ‘As the matter of conducting common entrance tests (CETs) is in the High Court, necessary permission will be obtained from the court. The schedule was finalized during a high-level meeting chaired by Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy with senior officials of the Education Department.’

Every year, the TSCHE conducts various entrance examinations to provide admission into different UG and PG courses. It includes Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test [TS EDCET], Telangana State Engineering Common Entrance Test [TS ECET], Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test [PGECET], and Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test [TS LAWCET].

One of the senior officials of the council said that the entrance examination for the remaining streams other than the Engineering stream will be organized after 13th September 2020. The TS POLYCET Polytechnic common entrance examination will be organized on 31st August while the TS CET 2020 will be conducted on 2nd September.

Usually, the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University [JNTU] Hyderabad will conduct the TS EAMCET exam on behalf of TSCHE. This computer-based test will be conducted for 160 questions in the examination. The exam for the remaining streams has been postponed as the test slots for holding the exams aren’t sufficient. The official said, ‘Depending on the slot availability, we will schedule all the entrance examinations. These tests may be held on consecutive dates.’

Previously, the concerned authorities have scheduled to conduct the Engineering entrance examination for the students between 4th and 7th May 2020. For the Medical and Agriculture courses, the exam was scheduled on 9th and 11th May 2020. Due to the lockdown amid the rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the officials had to postpone the exam.
